Youth hacks film producer’s website server
Well-known filmmaker Gaurang Doshi was in for a rude shock when he found that his website has been allegedly hacked by a 29 year old youth. As a website designer he stole the data from the server to damage the reputation of Gaurang Doshi’s production house. modus operandi was to The DN Nagar police arrested the youth Bhavik Shah by tracing the Internet Protocol address under section 420(cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and under Section 66 (Hacking with the computer system) of the Information Technology Act.
According to police, Anand Bansal, the administrator of the production house that have churned out films like “Ankhen”, “Deewar”, “Let’s Bring Our Heroes Home” and “Sandstorm “had approached the D.N.Nagar police to file a complaint of the website hacking incident.
In a statement to the police, it has been alleged that an unidentified person hacked the website server and managed to get access to the e-mails and the bank account details of the film producer.
The police on Monday at 10 pm arrested Bhavik Shah, a website designer under sections 420(cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and under section 66 (Hacking with the computer system) of the Information Technology Act.
A police officer added that the server had various details of the actor and its transactions with the different companies. We are probing if the accused used the information to share it with the rival companies for personal benefits. The accused was traced through the IP address used to hack into the servers of the website used by the film producer.
Parmeshwar Ganame, Senior Police Inpector, DN Nagar Police Station said that the accused has been remanded into police custody for one day and the seized electronic equipments have been sent to the Kalina Forensic and Science Laboratory for analysis.
The modus operandi of the youth Bhavik Shah was to allegedly hack the website server to get access to emails.
