They are denied of their basic rights to clean water

In the light of the the Colaba-Bandra Seepz Metro 3 project, 182 families were not only displaced from their, but also the right to clean water.

According to the claim of the erstwhile residents of Shanti Nagar in Sahar village, who have now been rehabilitated at Mulgaon in Andheri East, they have been receiving filthy water from their taps which is owing to sewage water diverted into their taps. .
While the MMRC spokesperson claimed that the treated water from the rudimentary sewage treatment was being reused only for toilet flushing purposes and not meant for drinking, residents claim  that they get the same water in all taps while the drinking water is supplied through tankers.

As per Sunita Gavandi, a resident who discovered this sewage treatment in the basement, she was shocked to know from the operator that the toilet water being treated in the basement was diverted to taps for reuse. We may be poor but must we be denied our basic right to clean water?”
